.. Terms and consitions

These are our terms and conditions for supplying and installing your EV Charger (the Terms). By purchasing an EV Charger from us you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully. Please note that you don’t need to be a United EV customer to purchase an EV Charger from us and use our installation service.

1. Definitions

The words below have the following meanings when they are used in this document:

“EV Charger” your charging unit (excluding accessories) to be used with a plug-in electric vehicle;

“United EV”, “we”, “us” or “our” is United EV;

“You” are the person who has purchased an EV Charger from us;

2. Your Quote

2.1 After you have chosen your EV Charger and entered your details on our website, you will be sent a link to a remote survey by text message. When you have completed the online survey (which may include providing pictures of your property, including the potential charger location) we will email you a charger installation quote for the work and also let you know if we think any additional work needs doing before your EV Charger can be installed. You will then be directed to our website to complete your purchase and make a payment. Your order will not be confirmed until you receive an email confirming that your order has been accepted.

2.2 Your installation quote will include the purchase cost of your EV Charger and the cost of a standard installation (see below for details of what is included). If your survey indicates that you require any additional work beyond a standard installation, your quote will also specify the necessary extra work and its associated cost. Please note that your quote price is still subject to change depending on whether any additional work is required following a site visit by the engineer.

2.3 A standard installation includes:

- The fitting of the EV Charger on a brick/rendered wall—installation will be carried out by 1 engineer and undertaken in compliance with the current British Standard Wiring Regulations (BS7671) and any associated documents/codes of practice, as well as the EV Charger manufacturer’s instructions;

- Up to 10 metres of 6mm power cable, run and neatly clipped directly to the wall between the electricity supply meter location and the EV Charger;

- All required main protective bonding at the property installed and adequately sized prior to the installation of the EV Charger;

- The fitting and testing of electrical connections and protections required for the EV Charger;

- Charge point to be fully commissioned (via WiFi or 4G only) and support provided to pair with customer’s mobile device, where applicable (mobile device and customer to be available to the engineer at the time of commissioning);

- Main isolation switches can be fitted for United EV customers on the day of install for an additional cost.

2.4 In order to undertake a standard installation, the following must apply:

- someone over 18 must be present at the Property during installation;

- the information you have provided in your survey must be accurate.

- Existing electrical installation within the property must be in an acceptable condition and meet current BS7671 wiring regulations;

- No groundworks/civil works or remedial works are required before installation can begin;

- All required main protective bonding is installed prior to installation (or can be installed at extra cost);

- All cabling clipped to the wall should be no greater than 2.5m from finished floor level;

- Clear access to the area where the EV Charger will be installed;

- Integration with any home battery system is not included unless discussed at survey stage.

If none of the above applies, installation may still proceed, but it will be classified as a non-standard installation and may require additional work at an extra cost (see Section 3).

2.5 Any quote issued is valid for 14 days and work must begin within 12 months of acceptance.

2.6 We may decline your order if installation is not possible.

2.7 We do not sell chargers without installation, nor will we install third-party chargers.
